I put the new battery in the iPod -- rather interesting to see the innards -- but now I have this foam spacer piece left over. I wonder where it goes? (shake shake jiggle jiggle)

Ha! I just took apart a laptop, swapped in a new motherboard, put it 2/3rds of the components back, then discovered this metal piece and a screw where I thought "where the heck does this go?".
But after reading through the entire service manual, I remembered where it went and all was well. Is this what asking for directions gets you? :)
