BMC Cycling Team at Local Restaurant
Palo Alto, CA -- Thursday January 10, PASTA? Restaurant located at 326 University Avenue in Palo Alto will be hosting the entire BMC Cycling Team and their entourage for dinner at 8pm. PASTA? is located along the official Palo Alto – Stanford Prologue route.
The Swiss based BMC Professional team will finish their week long training session for the Prologue today. After a grueling day cycling Mount Hamilton, the 16 person team will have the opportunity to enjoy a hearty family style Italian meal with the entire team and entourage.
This week’s training session has been the first time the entire team has tested the new BMC bicycles on local roads together. Of the 16 member team, 11 are American, one is from South Africa and four are Swiss. Only 8 riders will compete in the 2008 Amgen Tour of California.
Official Team Announcements will be made the week of January 14, for the 2008 Amgen Tour of California and details of individual members will be announced shortly thereafter. Teams from around the world will be coming to California for the largest, international professional cycling race in the United States.
The 2008 Amgen Tour of California is an eight-day US cycling event starting in Palo Alto on Sunday February 17, 2008. World class cyclists will kick off at 1 p.m. with a short, intense, individual time trial of about two miles. The Palo Alto – Stanford University Prologue is fast, flat, short and promises to be most exciting.
